“Painting is silent poetry, and poetry is painting that speaks. ” • Directions: Choose one of the following paintings. Then write a narrative poem (a poem that tells a story) about what you believe is happening in the work of art. • The poem must be a minimum of 10 lines. It can either rhyme or not rhyme (your choice. ) • You must explain what all five senses would experience if you were “inside” this painting. What would you see, smell, hear, taste, and touch? Two lines should be dedicated to each sense.
