Pablo Ruiz y Picasso • Born in Malaga, Spain on October 25, 1881 • Died April 8, 1973 in Mougins, France
Picasso’s Family Life • Father was Jose Ruiz Blasco, who was an art teacher. • Mother was Maria Picasso y Lopez. • Married Olga Koklova, a Russian Ballerina, in 1918. Seperated, but remained legally married until her death in 1955. Together they had a son, Paulo. • Had a long term affair with Marie Therese Walter beginning in 1927. Together they had a daughter named Maya. • With artist/writer Françoise Gilot, Picasso had two children, Paloma and Claude. • Married Jacquline Roque in 1961 and stayed with her until death.
