CAMP OBJECTIVES • To develop self-reliance and explore ways to respond to a challenge • To work with others in a group • To develop a lively curiosity about the outdoors • To apply the outdoor skills of simple navigation, packing and meal preparation in an outdoor environment.

Administrative Details Cost Per Pax - Approximately $80 -90 §Students to pay $20 through Edusave deduction, if applicable §Students without Edusave Account will pay $20 cash §The remaining amounts will be subsidised by the school • Non-attendance without valid reasons will result in full payment of costs incurred.
SAFETY Considerations • PE teachers will conduct Risk Assessment Recce prior to the camp – Venue, activities, and even fumigation schedule. • All trainers are certified outdoor education instructors and registered with MOE.
Safety Considerations Meal caterer are licensed with NEA and halal -certified. Vegetarian meals will provided as per request in the option forms.
SAFETY Consideration • Safety is paramount, especially in Adventure Camps. • All PE teachers and Camp Commandants are first-aid trained.

Pre Camp Preparations Allow your child to pack their bag themselves §You can guide them Check through their belongings to ensure its not too light or too heavy.

Pre Camp Preparations Ensure that names are written on all their belongings. • The week before the camp, please ensure they have sufficient rest. • Remind your child to remain hydrated at all times. There are sufficient water points for easy top up. •
Dismissal Students will be dismissed from school on 16 April 2019 at 1. 00 - 1. 30 p. m. Students who are taking the school transport are to remain in school until 1. 30 p. m.
Frequently Asked Questions Q: Can I visit my child at the camp? A: Parents are strongly discouraged from visiting their child as we want to instil a sense of independence and develop their resilience. Q: Can my child bring a handphone to call me and update his/her status daily? A: Handphones are prohibited from the camp as we want to avoid theft, damage and unnecessary distraction such as playing of games at night.
Frequently Asked Questions Q: What happens if my child is unwell? A: We would always alert parents immediately and render first aid treatment to the child. If necessary, we would send the child to the nearest clinic.
Frequently Asked Questions Q: What shall I pack for my child? A: The packing list has been issued to your child. Please follow the recommended packing list. You may additional items if necessary such as undergarments, extra t -shirts and socks. Students are encouraged to use their old shoes during the camp.
Frequently Asked Questions Q: I’m worried about my child’s confidence in completing the various activities and challenges as he/she is not used to be away from me. A: As in previous camps, the students will be mentally and physically prepared before embarking on the journey. “Challenge By Choice” is our operating motto for all our camps. Students have a choice to opt out from completing the activity if they are uncomfortable.
Frequently Asked Questions Q: Do I need to prepare any cash or pack food items for the camp? A: All meals will be catered for. It is inclusive of snacks as we understand that some students may be hungry in between meals.
Frequently Asked Questions Q: My child needs to take regular medication at different times of the day. How can I ensure that my child takes his/her medication on time? A: The form teacher of your child will personally ensure that the medication for your child will be given at the correct timing. The medication will be stored in the first aid room and refrigerated if need to. Before administering any medication, the form teacher will always contact the parents to alert them of the procedure.
Frequently Asked Questions Q: Is my child allowed to call me to update me of his/her wellbeing? A: We discourage students from calling parents as they might be distracted from the camp activities. We would want the student to have full focus throughout the whole duration of the camp. We also do not want parents to worry unnecessarily.
