The Beauty of the Options Program § Focus is on behaviors, not individuals. § “You are choosing the wrong behavior” is much different from “You are driving me crazy!” § Fits well with P 3 plans to teach our behavior matrix. § Repeated, consistent, direct instruction of correct behaviors allows students to improve. § Allows you to TEACH: § No more sending kids into the hallway to sit until you have time to deal with them. § No more long, drawn-out arguments in class. § Takes minimal time away from other students. § Students learn the program and respond quickly. § All teachers must use the same language and procedures.

The Pitfalls of the Options Program § Will not work if all teachers don’t

The Pitfalls of the Options Program § Will not work if all teachers don’t use the program consistently. § We must use the same language and procedures: § What are you doing?
