What is a Oxymoron? A figure of speech in which incongruous or contradictory terms appear side by side; a compressed paradox. Usually two to three words but can be longer.
What it is Not A OXYMORON IS NOT A PARADOX! A paradox is a statement that self-contradicts and seems absurd but in reality expresses a possible truth.
Why are they important? A oxymoron can be used to make a reader pause and think about the authors meaning of a certain statement.
