Overview The Yidan Prize reaches out to the world to give recognition to individuals whose work makes profound contributions to education research and development, with the ultimate aim of creating a better world through education.
Overview Yidan Prize, which gives out HK$60 million (around US$7. 75 million) worth of awards annually, is divided into two categories: - Yidan Prize for Education Research recognizes outstanding research that amounts to significant contributions to education - Yidan Prize for Education Development recognizes innovative ideas that tackle pressing challenges in the field of education.
Overview Each Yidan Prize Laureate will receive a gold medal and HK$30 million (US$3. 9 million) worth of awards, which include a cash prize of HK$15 million (US$1. 9 million) and a project fund of HK$15 million.
Structure With an endowment of HK$2. 5 billion (US$320 million), Yidan Prize is managed by Yidan Prize Foundation and governed by an independent trust committed to transparency and sustainability of the prize.
Structure The Prize is also governed by a board of directors, an international judging committee and a global advisory board formed by a respected team of independent and authoritative experts.

Nomination (1) Qualified nominators - Organizations Government bodies, non-government organizations, professional associations - Individual thought leaders - Self-nominations will be accepted in exceptional cases, with at least three referrals
Nomination (2) Eligible nominees - Nominees could be either an individual or a working team of up to three people - teachers, researchers, academics, policymakers, and advocates, among others - Posthumous nominations would not be accepted - Directors, Judging Committee Members and Global Advisory Board Members are ineligible to nominate or be nominated - Nominees who are not awarded can be nominated again in future
Nomination (3) Nomination Process - A valid nomination shall include all required information and documents - Nominations must be submitted to the Secretariat by the said deadline through the online nomination system - Detail process can refer to the factsheet “Nomination Process”
