Tips for Successful Partnerships with Embassies & COMs • Build trust through communication and transparency • Have regular meetings or calls with the Ambassador and DCM • Consult and coordinate early when planning an activity, not when 99% complete • Attend interagency meetings and contribute DOD priorities • Tune into political and economic circumstances in the country • Comply with local law and Embassy regulations (e. g. firearms) • Avoid any action or communication that suggests unfriendly action vs. the host government
