Background Indonesia faces a number of challenges in Management of TB 0. 4% Incidence of TB in Indonesia: about 1. 000 cases of TB (Riskesdas, 2013) Estimated 4, 042 tuberculosis patients and only 1, 896 were reported (Dinkes Kota Bogor, 2017) Second place as largest incidence of TB in the world (WHO, 2016)
Background It is important to have good knowledge, positive attitude and good practice to prevent of transmission of pulmonary tuberculosis among housewife. Housewives have a very important role in maintaining health in the family and for themselves (Amalia & Herawati, 2017). This study is to get early overview the knowledge, attitudes and practice housewives toward pulmonary tuberculosis disease who follow “posyandu Lansia” in Bojong gede, Bogor city, Indonesia.
Method This study is a preliminary study with the type of descriptive survey research This study was conducted in May 2017. A total of 47 housewives who visited posyandu lansia “Posyandu Lansia” is a health service center for senior citizen people. (Kemenskes RI, 2013).

Discussion Our study showed, although most of respondents only have education up to elementary school, most of them have a good knowledge, positive attitude and good practice toward TB disease. Misconception of knowledge, especially the cause of TB remained high. There are 29 respondents (61. 70%) still believe Pulmonary TB as a curse disease. This finding in line with the study Ahmad dkk (2014) that showed still high misperceptions about TB disease among females in the community, especially in Jakarta, Indonesia. (n = 2323)
DISCUSSION This study has several limitations. The source of information on tuberculosis was not included in this study, and the sample was based on quota sampling. Further, the data collected from the housewife group who follow “posyandu lansia” may have limitations. Thus, one cannot generalize from the data.
DISCUSSION This study has a several implication for health care workers that providing care for people in Bogor city, Indonesia. First, it indicates that basic knowledge on causes of tuberculosis need to be increase for every age group population. Especially for housewives, it is important to increase knowledge, attitude and practice about pulmonary TB because they cares family members. Second, the subjects in this study had misconceptions about cause of pulmonary TB disease. Healthcare workers should be aware of misconceptions about pulmonary TB and implement a programme to increase knowledge in the community.
Conclusion Though these findings can not be generalized, it is revealed that despite a good knowledge, positive attitudes and good practice toward TB disease is directly need for the community to clarify the misperception about pulmonary TB that spreading in the community. Health education structurly and sustainable about TB prevention and treatment is need to providing for family and community.
