What is Category Management? • Retailing and purchasing concept in which the range of products purchased by an organization is broken down into product categories– discrete groups of similar or related products • Category management is an effective business practice for reducing duplication in contracting, better leveraging the government's buying power, and promoting the use of best in class solutions government-wide 3
