Overview

o UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunication System) n the third generation mobile communication systems

o WCDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) n the main third generation air interface in the world n deployment has been started in Europe and Asia, including Japan and Korea, in the same frequency band, around 2 GHz n WCDMA was deployed also in the USA in the US frequency bands
