Session 1 1. 1 Opening Remarks (Secretariat Director) -- Thanked PB for their role in managing the GWP. -- Interim report: Good response from Flagships and Initiatives; need for continuous engagement through the year. -- PB should be more restrictive in its review of next GWP. -- Secretariat will provide better info to PB members to support them in fulfilling their role. 1. 2 Adoption of Agenda approved as distributed.

Session 1 1. 3 Review of Open Actions • Contact SEO subgroup chair. Assess subgroup status at PB-12. • Paris and Sendai subgroups to be on PB-12 agenda. • PB-09 -01 GEOSS portal user statistics to be reported at PB-12. • PB-10 -04 has been taken on board by Secretariat; item closed. • PB meetings outside Geneva: continue to hold meetings in Geneva. Support provided to members from the global south. • Travel support for PB members: inform in PB report to Ex. Com 45. Action PB-11 -01: Secretariat to provide info on costs of meetings in/out of Geneva. • Report from the first EAG meeting to be provided to PB in early January.

Session 1 continued 1. 4 Current Status of Flagships and Initiatives • Organize in-depth sessions at each PB meeting, including presentations by the leads. • Identify general issues across initiatives; identify solutions that might be applied. • Should be a discussion between GFOI experts and GEO Sec prior to bringing proposal to PB. Action PB-11 -02: Comments on the Secretariat information gathering process to be sent GEO Sec with a copy to all PB members. Due 12 November 2018.

Session 2 2. 1 Implementation Plan Template for 2020 -2022 Outcome: Revised templates for Flagship and Initiative Implementation Plans and for GWP summary descriptions to be developed in time for the call to GEO Principals in early December. Action PB-11 -03: PB members to provide comments on the current templates. Due: 12 November 2018. Action PB-11 -04: Secretariat to circulate draft templates and call letter for 2020 -2022 GWP to PB members for review and comment. Due: 21 November 2018.
