Self-Less Service for Others • Shown in fishing for men (Lk. 5) • Shown in love for Jesus (Lk. 7) • Shown in greatness (Lk. 9) • Shown in offering mercy (Lk. 10) • Shown in being generous (Lk. 21)

Service in Fishing (Evangelism) • Luke 5: 1 -11 • If we want to grow, we need to evangelize • We have to go where the fish are, know the fish, use the right bait, and be patient (Lk. 14: 17 -23; 2 Tim. 2: 24)

Service in Love • Luke 7: 36 -50 • If we want the benefits of Jesus, we have to show our love and faith for him • We show love and faith for Jesus through service (Acts 20: 19)

Service in Greatness • Luke 9: 46 -48 • If we want to be “great”, we need to “servant of all” (Mk. 9: 35) • We become “great” in the kingdom through humble service (Mt. 20: 26 -27; 23: 11; Lk. 22: 26)

Service in Mercy • Luke 10: 25 -37 • If we want to show mercy and do good, we have to get our hands dirty • We show mercy through service: “this do … go and do” (Mt. 12: 12; Gal. 6: 10; Jas. 4: 17)

Service in Generosity • Luke 21: 1 -4 • If we want to be blessed in our giving, we have to make a generous sacrifice • We give generously through service and sacrifice (Psa. 37: 26; Prov. 11: 25; 22: 9; Phil. 2: 17; Heb. 13: 16)
