Genesis 21: 10 “Get rid of that slave woman and her son, for that slave woman’s son will never share in the inheritance with my son Isaac. ” Sarah said before, “Hagar, we have this wonderful opportunity for you to help provide Abraham and I with our very own child. ” “It will be special for all of us. . . ” From that, it became: “Get that woman out of my house!”

Genesis 21: 17 “Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Lift the boy and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation. ”

1. Promises Don’t Eliminate Problems

Matthew 5: 45 (KJV) He maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

2. Your Tears Matter In Heaven.

I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. . . and now the cry of the Israelites has reached me. (Exodus 3: 7) What is the price of two sparrows—one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. (Matthew 10: 29)

3. Only God Has The Power To Open Your Eyes.

God came to Hagar in the desert and said, “Lift the boy and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation. ”

Genesis 21: 19 Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.

Genesis 21: 20 God was with the boy as he grew up. He lived in the desert and became an archer. While he was living in the Desert of Paran, his mother got a wife for him.

Mark 10: 21 Jesus looked at him, and loved him.

God sees you where you are.

And then he gives you the ability to see yourself where you are, and where you need to be, and what you need to do next.
