S. colonel George Custer led his men to the Black Hills and Custer and his men found gold The Lakota and Cheyenne Indian tribes didn’t want Custer and his men to search for gold at the Black Hills because they wanted to protect the Black Hills because they were sacred or holy to them.
The Battle of Little Bighorn n Custer and his soldiers tried to force the Indians onto a reservation so that they could take the gold in the Black Hills, and the Indians would not go because the Black Hills were sacred to them. This caused the Battle of Little Bighorn.
