ORNL Smoky Mountains Data Challenge 2020 • Data analytics competition based on data sets drawn from active research efforts at the lab and one category based on the COVID-19 Open Research Dataset Challenge (CORD-19). • Students and Experts compete in separate categories • Register a team of up to 4 people by June 22 at https: //smc-datachallenge. ornl. gov • Solutions Due by July 27 • Winning teams present a poster at the Smoky Mountains Computational Sciences and Engineering Conference in August and publish their solution papers in the conference proceedings. 2 Neutron scattering for material science: understanding how temperature variation affects the structure of an additively manufactured material Electron scattering for material science: machine learning to predict a material’s crystal structure Urban planning: analyzing energy use in buildings Human dynamics: analyzing how daily commutes affect vehicle emissions and traffic Geophysics: uncertainty in subsurface earth mapping based on seismic data Health: using artificial intelligence techniques to match patients with their best clinical trial options Teams can submit solutions to one of 10 CORD-19 tasks to help answer vital COVID-19 questions Open slide master to edit
