ORIGINS OF HUMANITY According to both scientist and historians, millions of years ago, the first humans emerged in the area now called Africa.
FYI • At that time, the planet EARTH, was one land mass. • This, “super-continent” eventually broke apart into different • It’s called Pangaea.
ORIGINS OF HUMANITY The findings of the oldest human remains were located in the savannah region in Africa. This is why the original name of this place was called ALKEBULAN (mother of mankind)
ORIGINS OF HUMANITY • THESE BONES WHICH WERE FOUND IN AFRICA, WERE EXAMINED, AND GIVEN THE NAME OF LUCY. • TO DATE, THEY ARE THE OLDEST BONES ON RECORD.
ORIGINS OF HUMANITY So, yes, that means ALL PEOPLE, regardless of race or color, are ORIGINALLY from AFRICA.
THE MOTHER LAND AFRICA is called the MOTHERLAND because it is the place where humanity is believed to have started.
ORIGINS OF HUMANITY It is debated however, on how human existence came to be.
ORIGINS OF HUMANITY Some people believe in what is called evolution.

HOMO HABILIS • The 2 nd human-like species that lived in Africa • Credited for being the first species to use stones for tools and building. • Brains were a little larger than the australopithecus species and faces did not stick out as much.

HOMO ERECTUS • The 3 rd “human-like” species that lived in Africa. • Known for migrating outside of Africa. • First to use fire. • Brains were a little larger than the homo habilis.

CREATION • Those who do not support theory of evolution, believe in the idea of Creation. • Creation is the belief that a supernatural, supreme being created man in His likeness.

OUT OF AFRICA THEORY According to evolution, the evolving of the australopithecus to the homo sapien occurred inside of Africa and eventually migrated to other parts of the world.
EVE HYPOTHESIS According to the Creation, all humans are descendents of the woman Eve, who is from Africa. Scientist also back this theory with DNA evidence that appears in all of us.
DIFFERENT RACES • Once humans moved throughout different parts of the world, they adapted to the climate in which they lived. • This is how it is believed we have different races.
