Steps taken to ensure credibility to PGS –India : New outreach • Participatory Guarantee System-India (-India) portal revamped- crops, beekeeping, livestock wild harvest, processing& handling • PKVY portal /MIS of PKVY developed • State seed certification agencies can act as RCs • Distinct roles for service providers and RCs • NCOF/ RCOFs – technical backstopping and monitoring • Sample testing for pesticides • 100% traceability of organic produce through UID Can graduate to third party certification to shift to export market Prepares farmers to maintain process and product documentation to win market credibility. An alternative to Third party certification cost effective, farmer-friendly hassle-free – Promotes decentralized and participatory approach
