Scheduling ensures students have sufficient time and resources to complete the assessment.

SCHEDULING Test Window • 2020 -21 Statewide test window: High School: January 5 – June 4, 2021 5 th and 8 th Grade: March 4 -June 4, 2021 • School-level test windows must last for at least four calendar weeks. • Test opportunities are subject to a 45 -calendar TAM, Appendix A day expiration period. SCHEDULING Test Requirements • The Science Assessment is required to be given to every student in grades 5, 8, and 11. • New! 10 th Grade students may target up to the 11 th grade test. Banked passing scores fulfill the 11 th grade requirement. TAM, Appendix A: Test Schedule

SCHEDULING Test Opportunities • Students in grades 5, 8, and 11 will have one annual opportunity for the Science Assessment • 12 th grade students may participate if they desire. TAM, Section 5. 1: Testing Time and Recommended Order of Administration TAM, Appendix B: Student Inclusion

Administration ensures equitable access for all students.

ADMINISTRATION 2020 -21 Science Field Test Items • The 2020 -21 Oregon Science Assessment will also contain field test items. • Field test items: • are included in the estimated time for the assessment (estimated time at 80 th percentile) • have the same tools available to students as the operational items in the test (e. g. calculator, highlighter, periodic table, etc. ) • DO NOT count toward the student’s final score

ADMINISTRATION Test Administration • Monitor to ensure that students only have access to the accessibility supports listed in the Oregon Accessibility Manual • Cover or remove instructional visual stimuli/posters from the testing environment • If breaking up the test into multiple sessions, allow students to finish all presented items on the screen before pausing the test. • If students pause the test for less than 20 minutes, they will be able to review or change questions already completed. • If students pause the test for more than 20 minutes, they will no longer be able to return to previously completed items when they log back in. ADMINISTRATION Scratch Paper • Scratch paper is a non-embedded universal tool available to all students. • PLEASE NOTE: Scratch paper used for notes on the Science assessment can be retained and securely stored between test sessions.
