Schedule of the meetings • Venue: Geneva International Conference Centre (CICG) • Key dates and time: – Preparatory meetings on Saturday, 27 April • Joint bureaux meeting: 1 pm-3 pm • Regional meetings: 3 pm-6 pm – Opening in the morning (10 am) of Sunday, 28 April – Closure in the afternoon (6 pm) of Friday, 10 May – High-level segment in the afternoon of Thursday, 9 May and morning of 10 May • Tentative schedule of the meetings is available in document EXCOPS. 2/INF/2
Daily schedule • Bureaux decide daily schedule and planning of meetings. • Daily schedule will be posted every morning on the intranet site and communicated by bureau members in regional groups meetings. • Regional groups are encouraged to work through bureaux members.

Main issues • Ex. COPs-2 – Review of synergy arrangements – Programme of work and budget – Secretariat organization • Simultaneous sessions of the ordinary Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm COPs – Technical assistance and finance – Compliance – Reporting and waste issues related to POPS
Main issues • Stockholm Convention COP-6 – Possible addition of HBCD – Non compliance, financial mechanism, NIPs and regional centers – Effectiveness evaluation, DDT, BDEs and PFOS exemptions/acceptable purposes • Basel Convention COP-11 – Follow-up to the Indonesian-Swiss country-led initiative (CLI) – Technical guidelines for ESM of e. Waste – Compliance, partnerships (PACE guidance document), annex IX amendments and regional centers
Main issues • Rotterdam Convention COP-6 – Possible addition of 5 chemicals and one pesticide formulation – Non-compliance – Information on exports and export notifications and final regulatory actions

Registration • Pre-registration : • All participants have to submit pre-registration forms • All nominations were to be made through official channels, with a nomination letter or a note verbale • Contact: Ms. Stéphanie Cadet - scadet@pops. int • On-site registration for all participants, including Permanent Missions delegates • 9 am to 6 pm on Saturday 27 April • 8 am to 6 pm on Sunday 28 April • 9 am to 6 pm from Monday 29 April to Friday 10 May 11
Credentials • Credentials need to be presented for representatives, who will constitute the delegation of a country, to the meetings of those conventions to which the country is a party • Credentials for up to 6 meetings can be presented in one document • Originals to be submitted no later than 24 hours after the opening of the meetings (10 a. m. on 29 April 2013) • Submission of advance copies of the credentials facilitates the clearance process • Contact: Ms. Stéphanie Cadet - scadet@pops. int
