Laser Beacon – Communication GUI / Firmware Status All commands from GUI are working fine (David is working on them) Still some action items to be improved/solved: All commands implemented in the GUI and seem to work fine 1. Start and stop command don't start or stop the corresponding command (start of trigger). The trigger is effective when we click on configure. Maybe it is intended behavior ? 2. Number of peaks parameter doesn't seem to do anything. When I try to reduce it, the measured power is the same. 3. Functionality to add : when we do "PS Laser off", make sure Conf Laser is 0 (maybe already implemented, this one was an old comment) 4. Problem of "double" start for laser conf 1, first command send to mlc always needs do be sent twice. 5. Implement the equation for temperature for laser (see document attached), here some comments from Rocco : 1. Obviously the LPMI+V 01 board has implemented the firmware for reading the temperature by sending command 5 from the serial port. As you can verify from the data sheet, the sensor has an analog output and provides a VOUT = 0. 25 V + (28. 0 m. V /°C) × TA. The nominal output signal range is 0. 25 V to 3. 05 V (0° C to +100° C). When command 5 is sent the LPMI+V 02 provides from 00000 to 10230 counts for a sensor output voltage in the range from 0 V to 3. 3 V. 6. Make sure that the charge of the battery stop below 14 V, and if around 10 V, stop everything and activate the charge of the battery. 7. Change “BASE Laser” to “Laser Beacon” Laser beacon boards firmware/commands: https: //drive. google. com/file/d/17 LNd. Sw. NDL 6 b_Ab 9 Cqp 9 WPPWx. Gza 2 Tn. EDFA X and Y– Communication GUI / Firmware Status Action list: CRITICAL : Both EDFA should be set to "ON" on CLB firmware startup, and the option to set them OFF on the EDFA tab should be greyed out, or simply deleted. The problem encountered is if we set them OFF, we completely lose connection between CLB and WRS with the fiber, so CU would be lost forever. If EDFA go to OFF for whatever reason, the emergency solution is then to reboot everything, and as they will be set to ON on startup, we can recover the CU. All commands implemented in the GUI and seem to work fine Specifications and Implemented commands EDFA X https: //drive. google. com/file/d/1 KIrb. XERu 31 Tase 0 v. Id. Sl. Q 8 Xd. Still some GUI bugs… All commands implemented in the GUI and seem to work fine • needed to click several times in on “Show commands” in order to activate the command • “carriage return” issue / just “feed line”…. Others 1. Communication with WR Swith is often lost…problem not yet completely understood at this point 2. Laser 5 V Switch ON/OFF involves GUI crash • LPMI+ board (laser) once switched on it sends some strings that are not “understood” by firmware of the CLB which involve the crash of the GUI 3. We use Ubuntu to run all this application…do we need to switch to another operating system ? • In order to run JPP if needed… Date: 05/02/2021 ORCA Calibration Base - Firmware / GUI Tests 15
