Orange Shirt Day 2020 Aboriginal Teacher Education Program
Orange Shirt Day 2020 Aboriginal Teacher Education Program Virtual Event
What is Orange Shirt Day? • Orange Shirt Day (September 30 th) is a day where we commemorate the residential school experience and honour the healing journey of the survivors and their families. On this day, we are encouraged to learn more about the history of these schools and create meaningful discussions about the effects of residential schools and the legacy they have left behind. We can do this by raising awareness, providing truthful education, and showing survivors that they matter. Participants are challenged to keep the ongoing process of reconciliation alive and honour the voices of Indigenous peoples, every day. • Visit www. orangeshirtday. org to learn more.
ATEP Virtual Orange Shirt Day • ATEP will be hosting a virtual event page on Facebook where they will share resources, lesson plans, and other Orange Shirt Day virtual events. • https: //www. facebook. com/events/348 3804011681856/ • They invite you to participate by uploading a photo of yourself, your friends, or your family in an Orange Shirt or showing your support and share it to social media.
