ORANGE LOCAL IMPLEMENTATION GROUP (LIG) Terms of Reference and Rules for our meetings What is it? A group led by people with learning disabilities and carers of people with learning disabilities that meet to talk about issues that are important to them What does it do? Listens to what people with learning disabilities want from their services, including the representatives of people with complex needs who cannot express their wishes Helps to improve local services

Shares important information Thinks about ways to make sure the promises made in the LD Plan review 2018 are kept Helps promote the LD Charter Sends representatives to the Learning Disability Partnership Board meetings. They make sure local issues raised at the LIGS are listened to. Eastleigh and Test Valley

RULES Members should try and come to at least 10 meetings a year (there

RULES Members should try and come to at least 10 meetings a year (there are 11 meetings each year, every month except August) The person responsible for the agendas and the minutes will send paperwork in good time for the meeting so people can read paperwork beforehand. The agenda can be changed at short notice. People need to read the minutes before the meeting. The rules of the meeting are: • no jargon • speak clearly • put your hand up if you want to speak • respect other people’s views. It is everyone’s job to help set up the meeting, and tidy up at the end.
