NGS RTN Validation • While NGS doesn’t provide any direct-to-user RTN positioning, aligning RTNs to each other and the NSRS is in the interest of all. • Emergency management, national security, infrastructure management, weather prediction, deformation modeling, municipal and statewide GIS systems, scientific studies, machine guidance, land surveying, engineering design, airport obstruction surveys, Next. Gen air navigation, transportation monitoring and recreational activities are examples of applications relying on consistent, accurate coordinates from RTNs. • There a number of ways that NGS can enable a process whereby these RTNs can be validated.
