Project Overview What is Cerner Optimization? The following are the six streams identified: q Order Entry Optimization q Medication Reconciliation Optimization q Discharge Optimization q Encounters Strategy q Clinical Alerts Optimization q Pharm. Net (Medication Project) Optimization

Current Project Update q Weeks of September 12 th, October 3 rd and 24 th § Future State Meetings for all streams § Cerner is on site for these meetings q Future State to be wrapped up by end of October q Design and Build to begin November q All streams (except Encounters) to be completed by May 2017

High Level - Optimization Timeline

Encounters Update q CAMH – discussing moving away from single encounter • Reporting issues is the reason for wanting to multiple encounter q NYGH – moved to single encounter for the following areas: – IP to Mental Health, Mental Health to IP, L&D Triage (OP) to Birthing Suit (IP), ODS to IP – Do not use First. Net or do CPOE in their ED • Lost of revenue identified and still discovering issues • Huge win with Clinicians to have single encounter q PEI – started with Single Encounter and still with single encounter – § setting up call to discuss their success

Encounters – next steps q Future State for ED to IP and other transitions of care - complete § Estimated date of completion – May 2018 (both recurring and single encounter) due to the vast changes in reports, scripts, interfaces, etc. ) § Putting together Criteria for evaluation our decision to move to Single Encounter by the Optimization Steering Committee q Recurring and Telephone Encounters § First Future State Meeting on September 16
