All top level bowlers are great spare shooters. There are many spare systems that your bowlers can use. Let them practice some of them and find out the system that provides them with the best statistics (Min 80%). They can use one system only or use a combination of systems.

A plastic spare ball usually doesn’t have a core and the coverstocks are usually polyester that skid and have minimum friction potential. Spare Systems: The Basics Every Shot is a Single Pin Shot All spare systems are based on hitting a single pin. Almost all spare conversions can be made by single pin hitting system. These single pins are called “key pins”. The “Shooting a single pin” concept creates trust in bowlers as they simplify the task into a single pin conversion. The following examples show we can approach different spares as single pin conversions. Bowlers can use different systems for conversions in relation to their performance and level of confidence.

Spare Systems: The Basics TRUST 4. 5 5 4. 5 14 BOARD SAFE ZONE When we roll a ball at a single pin we have a 14 board safe zone within which we can hit the pin. If we shoot it straight and are able to keep half our ball within that 14 board area our hitting potential is guaranteed. All your bowlers must be made aware that 14 boards is very wide on a 39 board lane. They must just trust themselves and shoot with confidence.

Spare Systems: The Basics TRUST – 14 Board Safe Zone & Corner Pins When we want to hit a corner pin we have less than 14 boards for a safe zone. Accordingly bowlers must use a diagonal shot to increase their safe zone in order to make their spare conversion.

Spare Systems: 3 -6 -9 / KISS / 1 -5 KISS system (Keep It Simple and Straight) is based on straight shots. You can practice all other systems with straights shots but KISS is based on straight shooting. Bowlers find their angles to shoot 1 st and 5 th pin with straight shots and move 3 by 3 to to left & right, making all conversions while keeping the same target.

Er zijn verschillende sparesystemen. Laat je bowlers deze uittesten zodat zij uiteindelijk een eigen systeem ontwikkelen waar zij vertrouwen in hebben. Bij beginners gebruiken wij het basis spare systeem.

Deze bal heeft meestal: • geen echte kern • een oppervlak van poleyster • een grote glijfaze, geen frictie Bij een rechte bal spelen de meeste bowlers met een open pols, vingers tussen 6 uur en 12 uur om de hoek uit de bal te halen. Je kunt in elk systeem een rechte bal gebruiken maar bij dit systeem is de rechte bal de basis. Bowlers zoeken hun lijn voor het omzetten van de 1 en 5 kegel met een rechte worp en schuiven drie latten naar links of rechts voor de volgende kegels terwijl het mikpunt hetzelfde blijft.

Spare systems: De basis Elke worp gebeurt naar één kegel Alle spare systemen zijn gebaseerd op het raken van één enkele kegel. Bijna alle sparecombinaties kunnen dus omgezet worden met dit systeem. Deze kegels noemen we “key pins”. Dit systeem zorgt voor een gevoel van zelfvertrouwen daar de taak van de bowler omgezet word naar het wegwerpen van één kegel. De volgende voorbeelden zullen aantonen op welke wijze we dit systeem kunnen gebruiken. Bowlers kunnen verschillende systemen gebruiken, dit is afhankelijk van hun vertrouwen en speelwijze.

Met andere woorden, als we een rechte bal kunnen werpen binnen deze zone, is ons succes verzekerd.
