Columnists express opinions based on facts learned and confirmed through reporting. Many scholastic columnists write about national and international issues BUT you must find a way to make them localized and important to your audience. FIND THE TIE-IN. Offering your opinion on problems in the Middle East may seem appealing but how does it relate to your audience?
