OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES in the implementation of RA 10912 CPD for ARCHITECTS

Section 28 of Article IV, Republic Act 9266, provides for the policy of the

Section 28 of Article IV, Republic Act 9266, provides for the policy of the State to regulate and professionalize the practice of Architecture. Section 15 of Article IV of Republic Act 10912, otherwise known as Continuing Professional Development Act of 2016, provides for the authority of the Professional Regulatory Boards to prescribe their own requirements and procedure to effectively implement the CPD program. Section 7, Rule 2 of Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 10912, provides for the creation of a CPD Council in each of the regulated professions. Every CPD Council shall be composed of a chairperson from PRBOA, and two (2) members each from the IAPOA and CODHASP.

Lectures / Seminars by qualified speaker 3. Workshops / Training / Tutorial Modules 4. Study tours and visits with qualified speaker/guide 5. Technical Presentation by Suppliers and Manufacturers • Must be a general technical information seminar or training workshop • Does not market a company’s products or service 6. Company in-house training • • Company has at least 25 registered and licensed architects Maximum of 2 firms may combine, with the bigger firm as main provider. 7. On-line Seminar / Computer based training • • Entire on-line training program should be submitted to CPDC for approval. Once approved, program is good for one year, renewable for another year.

Section 9 Unforeseen events or circumstances The CPDC may consider deferring the compliance with the required CPD credit units if the architect after showing evidence cannot comply due to unforeseen circumstances. Example: The architect or his/her immediate family member is suffering from serious illness, subject to approval of the CPDC. Therefore, architect: • Shall file an affidavit and provide supporting evidence • In no case the deferment shall exceed twelve (12) months • May still require compliance in a pro-rata or a portion of the required CPD credit units in a compliance period.
