Review your ideas from homework: 3. What is one part of the model that is same for all scientists (our class, Lamarck and Darwin). 4. What is one part of the model that varies between scientists (our class, Lamarck and Darwin). I can… Use scientists models to explain evolution. Homework: Test Retake 6/8 & 6/12 @ 8 am. Inheritance Quiz Monday June 11 th
Discussion Diamond 1. Fill out corners of your diamond. There are TWO diamonds at your table. Diamond 1– Each student will write their idea for how all three models were the SAME. Diamond 2 – Each student will write their idea for how the models varied from each other. 2. Start with one diamond and come up with consensus for what to put in the middle based on your ideas.
HOMEWORK Due 6/11: Evolution Explanation Which model is more like ours? Write your explanation in journal and use ideas from the handout as evidence. NOTE: You will find the questions at the bottom of your Lamarck/Darwin Reading Handout

Why is SCD less common in the United States? 5. We will share your responses to analysis questions, be prepared to share out a question – table 1 will share out question 1, table 2 will share out question 2, etc. I can… Review data to explain what happens to allele frequencies during evolution Homework: Partner Evolution Test June 13 th STUDY for Test

Addie’s Story Movie Time: 48: 30 -50: 24 • Addie Rerecich was only 11 years old when she was hospitalized with MRSA, an infection her doctor said she likely caught by picking at a scab — like so many kids do. While in the hospital, she contracted an untreatable form of the bacteria stenotrophomonas that nearly took her life. • Rerecich spent three months on life support before receiving a double-lung transplant. After five years of physical therapy and several bouts of pneumonia, she is covered in surgical scars. She takes a daily cocktail of medications that leave her tired, trembling and nauseous. • But she survived. “No one thought I’d walk again. No one thought I’d talk again, ” Rerecich says. “Statistically, I’m not supposed to be here. I know that I beat the odds. ”
