Ontario Institute for Education Leadership Ontario Leaders Collaborating for Student Achievement, Equity and Well-being Prayer of Saint Francis Lord, make me an instrument of your peace: where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seekto be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.

Ontario Institute for Education Leadership Ontario Leaders Collaborating for Student Achievement, Equity and Well-being Reframing Cognitive Distortions The most dominant cognitive distortion I experience is personalizing. For example, if someone complains about the PA day activities, I feel they are upset with me because I am in charge. This impacts my emotions because I try to compensate by acquiescing when the person asks for something later on. Then I feel disappointed in my behaviour. Instead, I would like to stop taking things personally, stop giving in, and be compassionate with myself. I would use positive self talk like, “I don’t need to please everyone, ” or “I made an error. There is no need to put myself down. I did the best I could in the situation. ”
