One Point Perspective Creating space in your drawing
Looking with Artist Eye’s… Take some time to look at each picture. What questions do you have? Do you see anything that looks the same ?
Let’s look again… Each picture has a path that comes out from the center. Follow the path into the middle of the picture.
The pictures on the last slide are examples of: One Point Perspective *You can follow with your eyes from the background to the foreground. *The space appears 3 -dimensional. Art Vocabulary words: Background- the space in the back of the picture. Foreground- the space in the front of the picture.
Which picture shows One Point Perspective
Making a picture using One point perspective What you will need: • Paper or canvas • • Drawing pencil/eraser Ruler or straight edge (optional) Colored crayons or colored pencils Markers or paint
Step 1 : With a pencil draw a horizontal line across the middle of the paper or slightly higher. Art Vocabulary word: Horizontal line: A line that goes from left to right.
Step 2: Place a dot in the middle of the horizontal line. Step 3: You will be drawing diagonal lines. Art Vocabulary word: Diagonal line: A line that goes from corner to corner.
Step 3: Draw 3 or more diagonal lines out from the center dot.
Step 4: Draw a sun or sunset above the Horizontal line
Step 5 : Fill the spaces with plants and vegetables! Add more details if you like. Note: Objects appear smaller in the distance.
Hurray! You created a field scene using… One Point Perspective!! * * ART CHALLENGE ** Now that you know how to draw using try creating other scenes. one point perspective , By using only two diagonal lines you can create a garden path, country road, dock or a road into an imaginary land!
