Why an IPC?

The IPC is an Important Part of an Automation Solution • “Overall the rapid growth of data generated by manufacturing processes is turning the focus to PC based architectures” • “The industrial PC market will mirror these trends in the global value chain by enabling technologies and ways of production through technological developments in hardware, connection to the ERP/MES layer, data collection, M 2 M communication, and data analytics. ” • Omron’s IPC has embedded control “Overall, ARC sees the trend to more IPC based control architectures in machinery. ” • (Industrial PCs Worldwide Outlook Through 2018; ARC)

The IPC is a Critical Solution for Big Data and IIo. T • Pharma and Food are required to collect and maintain process data. • Pharmaceutical Current Good Manufacturing Process (c. GMP), Title 21 Subpart J requires certain data be collected and maintained. • US Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) Section 103, Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) via Laboratory Information Management System (LIM) software. • Recall management. • Collect, date stamp and store process variables, raw material sources, quality metrics, equipment condition.
