Omeka Creating Exhibits
Log in to Omeka at: http: //www. oberlinlibstaff. com/omeka/admin Select “Create an Exhibit”
Fill in the appropriate fields for the new exhibit. (The “Title” field is required) This is the exhibit name as it appears in the website URL, for example, http: //www. oberlinlibstaff. com/omeka/exhibits/show/hist The credits will appear with the ory_carnegie_library_oc description on the public site The description is an introduction to the entire exhibit that appears on the public site
Tags help associate exhibits with other Choose whetheritems this exhibit be in your will archive featured on the “browse exhibit” page If you are designing your exhibit in stages, do not select “Yes” to make your exhibit public Choose an overall look for the exhibit by selecting one of the options from the drop-down menu To continue setting up the new exhibit, click “Add Section”
Fill in the section metadata Click “Add Page”
Fill in the page metadata
Choose a layout for the page from the options below Click “Save Changes”
You can browse your items archive, or click “Show Search Form” to search for items
Drag the chosen item to the appropriate box Click the minus sign to remove an item or drag a different item on top to replace it Fill in a description or caption for the item
When you are finished adding items and descriptions, click “Save and Return to Section” or “Save and Add Another Page”
The pages in the section. Pages are can be edited by Belisted sureon to save any. Section” changes made “Edit” by the “Edit page selecting clicking “Save Changes”
The new exhibit is listed on the “Exhibits” page Make changes by clicking “Edit”
When the exhibit is complete, select “Yes” to make it public
