When we as teachers believe in our students and can show them that we have high expectations of them, students will start to achieve more, then we can start moving our students and the school in the right direction One Team. Power of Belief [Because of] race, location, we should lower our expectations… Power of Expectations: Closing the Gap in your classroom When people label students or a school, and then they lower the expectations of the students and school. Then people start to believe that students are going to perform a certain way, teachers then teach less challenging lessons because of a label. We need to look at ourselves as teachers and make sure that we are not labeling our students, or the school. Do not let the labels others have placed on us or our students, define who we are.
