Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) AVID is a nationwide program with a mission to close the achievement gap by preparing students for college readiness and success in a global society. AVID targets students who are traditionally underrepresented on college campuses. Every high school in USD 233 has an AVID site license and offers a four year AVID program of coursework. At Olathe North, AVID students are required to take advanced courses and encouraged to take the AVID elective class during each of their four years of high school.
