Found a Match! Next Step: Deconstruct the Funding Opportunity Initial Questions- Ensuring You’ve Found the Right Funding Match § § § § When is the submission deadline? Is there an earlier deadline for a Letter of Intent (LOI)? Do you and/or Carthage need to complete any registrations prior? What are the internal deadlines here at Carthage? Does your project fit the funding agency’s priorities/ objectives? What is the budget cap? Can your project be completed with that? What kind of resource allocation will this require of the college? How many awards do they expect to make? What are the review criteria? Is there a cost-sharing or match requirement? What are the requirements/ commitments if you receive funding? What reporting obligations will there be? Do you have the time, resources and capacity to write the proposal, meet all of the requirements and submit a competitive proposal?
