THE TENETS OF OMA n EMPOWERMENT - Seeks options and or interventions to help n GLOBAL& COMMUNITY- Assist in referring and n MULTICULTURAL - We contribute to the development of n INSPIRATION - The OMA seeks to inspire all physicians in students feel more skilled. Ex. Recent skills lab for interested upcoming 3 rd year students; USMLE “booster” 3 day free course connecting to mission programs, local community service, and electives. Supports and offers community electives, support HRC, offers forum to present experiences etc. physicians who are truly culturally competent in their skill levels by having trained and practiced medicine in diverse environments. This is accomplished by recruitment and maintenance of a diverse student body and faculty and promoting cultural competency training whenever possible (Grand Rounds, etc) training for service and a feeling of urgency to reach out in humanitarian aspects of healthcare.
