National security council • Congress created the NSC with a 1947 law to redefine how the U. Council of economic advisers • Congress created in 1964. • It is a unique three-person committee, one person serving as the chair and each member appointed by the president and approved by the Senate. • The CEA is more independent than most White House offices. • The council assists the president in preparing annual economic report for Congress. • Also assesses federal government spending.

Office of U. S. Trade Representative • Essentially an ambassador to other nations. • The trade representative negotiates treaties regarding international commerce. • He or she connects with business interests and works to formulate international law. • President Trump with U.
