Prelude “Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty” ~Hopson Lighting of the candles
SCRIPTURE READING: Isaiah 55: 1 -5
Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy?
Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me; listen, so that you may live. I will make you an everlasting covenant, my steadfast, sure love for David. See, I made him a witness to the peoples,
a leader and commander for the peoples. See, you shall call nations that you do not know, and nations that do not know you shall run to you, because of the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, for he has glorified you.
*CALL TO WORSHIP L: Friends, hear the call of your Creator: “Come, drink, eat, be fed. ” P: We come this day to listen carefully, to eat that which is good – the Presence of God.
L: The Holy One invites you to come to him so that you may live. P: We long to hear God’s Word and feel God’s presence. We long to eat that which satisfies.
L: Great and loving God, pour your Spirit on us this hour so that we may truly know your presence. P: Thank you for coming to us and loving us so deeply.
L: Let us worship God with all of who we are. P: Let us worship God in spirit and in truth.

*HYMN #482 “Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty” v. 2 Hast thou not seen how thy desires ever have been Granted in what He ordaineth?
*HYMN #482 “Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty” v. 3 Praise ye the Lord! O let all that is in me adore Him! All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him.
*HYMN #482 “Praise Ye the Lord, the Almighty” v. 3 Let the Amen sound from His people again, Gladly for aye we adore Him.
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison) Holy God, too often we spend our money on that which is not bread and our labor for that which does not satisfy. Too often, in fear, we cling
tightly to our blessings, instead of sharing with those who still hunger. We do not want to be selfish or greedy, but we do just that. You ask us to feed your sheep, and we refuse, citing a
litany of excuses. Forgive us Lord, as we try to be faithful to the covenant you have made with us: that you will feed us, and we will feed the world. We are sorry that we have broken this covenant, but now,
with your help, we can be forgiven and renewed and strengthened for the day. Forgive us, Holy One of Israel. Silence is observed for individual reflection and prayer.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON L: Our God is known by this: love, mercy, and forgiveness. Know this day you are healed by the One True God.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON P: We gladly receive God’s grace and forgiveness. God’s love makes us feel whole.

PROCLAIMING THE WORD SCRIPTURE READING: John 21: 15 -17
When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me more than these? ’ He said to him, ‘Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. ’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my lambs. ’ A second time he said to him, ‘Simon, son of John, do you love me? ’
He said to him, ‘Yes, Lord; you know that I love you. ’ Jesus said to him, ‘Tend my sheep. ’ He said to him the third time, ‘Simon son of John, do you love me? ’ Peter felt hurt because he said to him the third time, ‘Do you love me? ’ And he said to him, ‘Lord, you know everything;
you know that I love you. ’ Jesus said to him, ‘Feed my sheep. ’ L: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God!
