OHS&W is guided by Alberta’s Occupational Act, Regulation and Code. Joint Worksite Health & Safety Committees Click to edit Master subtitle style • To promote health, safety and wellness in the workplace by bringing together workers and employers in a collaborative forum to identify and resolve concerns at the site. • Required at each Covenant Health site • Worker members are appointed by their Respective Union and Management members are appointed by Site Administration • Meeting minutes are found on the site/department OHS Board and on Compassion. Workplace Hazards A Hazard is a condition or behavior that has the potential to cause an injury, illness, or loss. Click to edit Master subtitle style If a hazard is identified, workers should: • Eliminate the hazard, if able to do safely • If the hazard cannot be eliminated, immediately report to the Supervisor or Manager If you have questions or are unsure about the hazards of your job you can: • Ask your supervisor/manager • Ask about standard operating procedures and precautions for your job • Check product labels and safety data sheets • Pay attention to signs and other warnings in your work
