1. Architectural Drawings • Contain the size, shape, and location of all parts of a house • Use lines, symbols, and views to communicate ideas.

5. Site or Plot Plan • Shows all property lines and locations of structures on the property
6. Foundation Plan • Shows the basic outline and supports of the house
7. Floor Plan • Shows size and arrangement of rooms, hallways, doors, windows, and storage • The most important drawing in a set of house plans.
8. Roof Plan • Show the style and pitch of roof
9. Exterior elevations • A set of scale drawings, usually 4, showing all sides of the house.
10. Interior elevation • A scale drawing that shows the view of one interior wall of a house – a view from the center of the room.
11. Section view • The view of the inside of a house through an imaginary “cross-section” cut.
12. Detail view • An enlargement of a construction feature.
13. Rendering • A drawing with color to show a realistic view of a completed house or room.
