O ANOTACE: O Anotace: O Didaktický učební materiál je určen žákům středních škol k zopakování učiva. Prezentace se skládá z přehledu daného učiva a ze cvičení určených k upevnění materiálu. O METODICKÝ POKYN: O Očekávaný výstup: pravidla užívání some a any včetně výjimek, na základě znalosti pravidel schopnost doplnění jednotlivých tohoto jevu do textu a jejich užívání v mluvené řeči.

SOME/ ANY

USE OF SOME/ANY O We use some/any with countable and uncountable nouns O We use some/any to state quantity, amount of something. We don´t know the extact number or it is not important for us. O Some/any are quantifiers

USE OF SOME O We use some in positive (affirmative) sentences with countable and uncountable nouns O I have some books for you. (books are countable) O I have some money for you. (money is uncountable)

USE OF ANY O We use any in negative sentences and interrogative sentences (questions) with countable and uncountable nouns O Have you got any books for me? O Have you got any money? O I haven´t got any books for you. O I haven´t got any money.

EXCEPTION O We use some when we offer or request something O Would you like some tea? (offer) O Cań I have some coffe, please? (request) O We use any in positive sentences after never, without, hardly O They never go anywhere. O I passed the exam without any help.

COMPOUND WORDS O Some/any are parts of compound words such as: O Something/anything O Somewhere/nowhere O Someone/anyone O Remeber that some/any have to be used with a noun but these compound words can stand on their own

O I don´t have any historical books. O Do we have any bread at home? No, we don´t. I´ll buy some bread and some rolls. O I did it without any help. O Buy some sausages! We have a barbecue!
