Starter Activity – 5 mins • Write a paragraph explaining what you can remember about a vegan diet. . • Explain what it means to be vegan, and what foods vegan’s can and can’t eat.

Calorie intake and calorie output • Copy these sentences – • The average adult male needs to take in around 2500 calories a day to maintain weight. • The average female needs to take in around 2000 calories a day to maintain weight.

Calorie intake/output • Task one (10 mins ) – • Make a thought shower identifying as many reasons as you can which would change the amount of calories a person needs to take in to maintain weight. . . • One thing which impacts how many calories a person needs to eat to maintain weight is how active they are. Eg – if a person has a job in which they walk 15, 000 steps a day they will need to have more calories.
