Nusfalau – General Description • Nusfalau village is situated 110 km away from Cluj • 4200 inhabitants (510 Romanians, 3300 Hungarians , 426 Roma) • Roma are living in very poor conditions • The Roma Community - village border, in 3 areas: Brazilia, Bacos si Gara (Railway Station). • Brazilia Roma area – formal Colony for people infested with Plague • Roma community member - brick makers

Project results • 10 Roma families (30 children) improve their living conditions; • 18 new jobs were created. • other 4 houses were build and 2 renovated using the same method • The working method became a tool used by other communities also. • The community was empowered and new projects (political participation, heath mediator, electricity, IGA, education for children, community centre, ID papers, football team etc) were implemented.

Conclusions Recommendations • The integrated approach is required: housing as the main factor of social inclusion • Poor housing = poor health, poor participation on the labor market, low levels of education, low levels of public participation and self-esteem etc. Essential ingredients: - Participation and implication of Roma communities - Local Partnerships - Data from Roma communities
