Nursing & Quality Report for : Quality Surveillance Group Reporting Period: Q 1 2020/21 Current position • Currently allocating reviews that were notified in Actions • Newly formatted Quarterly report • Development of Initial Review Outcome forms resulting in a Risks/assurance gaps • Lack of direct access to clinical systems increasing March 2020 • 2 employed reviewers (P/T) plus additional reviews completed by NECSU have significantly reduced the backlog • Internal review of current Le. De. R process ongoing more robust reviewer feedback process • 4 reviews allocated a grade 4 have been shared with the Safeguarding Adults Board • Action Plan for co-working with ME process in future to reduce duplication of work Q 1 position 2020/21 time for each review • The Covid-19 pandemic has resulted on some delays in completion of initial Le. De. De. R reviewer within 6 months of notification • Established relationship with Le. De. R Service User Forum • Newly formatted Quarterly report • Annual report to be published on webpage for first time • Funding application submitted to NHSE for additional 2020/21 funds to support System actions • The national team, based in Bristol, have produced five ‘Action into Learning’ CCG specific actions • CCG needs to maintain a pool of sufficient trained reviewers to enable timely Assurance • Completed reviews are quality assured at QA panels, extra panels have been held additional Le. De. R reviewer hours allocation & completion of reviews. • Align Le. De. R and ME workstreams • Focus on service improvement and quality assurance work directed by the recommendations from reviews newsletters since July 2018, sharing the national learning associated with aspiration pneumonia, sepsis, recognising deterioration, constipation and the Mental Capacity Act. • A monthly newsletter, which contains news and resources, is circulated from the Le. De. R team at the University of Bristol. each month this quarter to accommodate extra reviews completed • Quarterly report shared with providers and on website • Annual Report submitted to the Governing Body before being published on the website
