The Unchangeable God (Num 23 v 11 -24) § Balaam ended up envying Israel’s blessings v 10 Ø He wanted the blessings, without living in sync with God § Can’t curse them all, so curse them small v 13 Ø • • Ø Right out of the devil’s playbook Try to get a few to fall 1 Pet 5 v 8 Look not to your weakness, but the Lord’s strength 2 Cor 12 v 9 God blesses Israel all the more 2 nd time around

We can’t be trusted Jer 17 v 9 Jesus is THE Truth Jn 14 v 6 Think Biblically, think like God not man It’s impossible for God to lie Heb 6 v 18, 1 Jn 1 v 5 If God can’t lie, He can’t change His mind v 19 If God can’t change His mind, He has to keep His promises Balaam forced to see that God’s Word can’t be changed v 20 God’s unchanging nature means His Word can’t be changed

The Unchangeable God (Num 23 v 11 -24) § Israel now under God’s sovereign grace v 21 Ø Ø Ø • • He is with them & His Word is declared among them v 21 He’s among them cos He’s saved them v 22 Now they’re saved they belong to Him Deut 7 v 6 He didn’t save you to lose you to a curse! He looks upon His saved & sees no sin v 21, Isa 43 v 25 This is about the unchangeable God we trust Can’t be cursed cos God’s promised to bless you Isa 49 v 16 His unchangeable character & Word is at stake Mt 24 v 35, Heb 13 v 8, Num 23 v 23
