CHOIR DOXOLOGY INTROIT
Native American Prayer of Thanksgiving Great and Eternal Mystery of Life, Creator of All Things, we give thanks for the beauty you put in every single one of your creatures. I am grateful that you did not fail in making every stone, plant, creature,
and human being a perfect and whole part of the Sacred Hoop. We are grateful that you have allowed us to see the strength and beauty of all our relations. Our humble request is that all of the Children of Earth will learn to see the same perfection in
themselves. May none of your human children doubt or question your wisdom, grace, and sense of wholeness in giving all of creation a right to be living extensions of your perfect love.

SCRIPTURE READING: Psalm 100
A Psalm of Thanksgiving. Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come into his presence with singing. Know that the Lord is God. It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving, and his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, bless his name. For the Lord is good; his steadfast love endures for ever, and his faithfulness to all generations.
*CALL TO WORSHIP L: Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth. P: We glorify our God with songs of thanksgiving and joy.
L: God has done great things for us, filling us with grace. P: God fed our ancestors in the wilderness; God clothes us with hope.
L: We will offer our hearts to God, always saying, “Thank you!” to the One who loves us. P: We sing our praises, shouting of God’s presence in our lives.
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People…” v. 1 Come, ye thankful people, come, Raise the song of harvest home; All is safely gathered in, Ere the winter storms begin;
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People…” v. 1 God, our Maker, doth provide For our wants to be supplied; Come to God’s own temple, come, Raise the song of harvest home.
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People…” v. 2 All the world is God’s own field, Fruit unto God’s praise to yield; Wheat and tares together sown, Unto joy or sorrow grown;
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People…” v. 2 First the blade, and then the ear, Then the full corn shall appear; Lord of harvest, grant that we Wholesome grain and pure may be.
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People…” v. 3 For the Lord our God shall come, And shall take the harvest home; From each field shall in that day All offenses purge away;
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People…” v. 3 Give the angels charge at last In the fire the tares to cast, But the fruitful ears to store In God’s garner evermore.
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People…” v. 4 Even so, Lord, quickly come To Thy final harvest home; Gather Thou Thy people in, Free from sorrow, free from sin;
*HYMN #551 “Come, Ye Thankful People…” v. 4 There forever purified, In Thy presence to abide; Come, with all Thine angels, come, Raise the glorious harvest home.
*PRAYER OF CONFESSION (unison) Holy God, you have given us many good gifts. Today we thank you for all of them, but we also confess that sometimes we love those gifts more than we love you.
We confess wanting more and more things: food, clothes, toys, and money. Forgive us for not being content and thankful. Forgive our selfishness.
Help us to love you more than everything else. In Jesus’ name we pray. Silence is observed for individual reflection and prayer.
ASSURANCE OF PARDON L: The God who challenges us is also the God who encourages us. The God who confronts us is also the God who accepts us. Be assured that God is with us even now,
ASSURANCE OF PARDON accepting, guiding, and forgiving. P: Thanks be to God!

PROCLAIMING THE WORD SCRIPTURE READING: Colossians 3: 12 -17
As God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. Bear with one another and, if anyone has a complaint against another, forgive each other; just as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly;
teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
L: This is the Word of the Lord. P: Thanks be to God!
“Giving Thanks” Rev. Tedd Pullano
A LITANY OF THANKSGIVING L: Let us give thanks to the Lord, our rock, our fortress, and our deliverer. Let us remember her mercy, for she is gracious and compassionate.
P: We thank you for calling us to faith in Christ, for putting your Spirit within us, for giving us the mind of Christ, for gathering us into your church.
L: We thank you, Lord, for extending your grace to us, for calling us to a life of gratitude, for calling us to service in your kingdom. ALL: Thanks be to God!
L: Let us give thanks to the Lord, for he satisfies the thirsty, he fills the hungry with good things, and he heals the afflicted. Let us celebrate his abundant goodness.
P: We thank you, gracious Creator, that you provide for all our needs, for the food on our tables, for the clothes on our bodies, for the beds we sleep in, and for the dwellings that shelter us.
L: We praise you for all your gifts that go beyond our basic needs, for the things that make our work easier, for the convenience of modern life, for the beauty and pleasure that you bring into our lives.
ALL: Thanks be to God! L: Let us give thanks to the Lord for the people he has given us. For parents and grandparents, for sons and daughters, for brothers and sisters, for husbands and wives – for all those who reflect to us the human dimension of your love,
P: We give you thanks, O Lord. L: For neighbors and colleagues, for friends both far away and nearby – for all those who share the joys and sorrows of our daily lives, P: We are grateful, O Lord.
L: For those who serve us in restaurants, in repair shops, in stores, in schools, in hospitals – for all those who make our lives more comfortable, P: We give you thanks, O Lord.
L: For the family of God, for the church universal, and for those who worship with us and minister to us in the church, P: We are grateful, O Lord.
L: For those who are weak and destitute, for those who need protection and support, for those who need healing and nurturing, P: We ask your support and give you thanks, O Lord.
L: For all the congregations in this area, and for all those to whom we minister, P: We are grateful, and we give you thanks, O Lord. Amen. (Litany by Paul K. Hesselink)

lips of praise as the wide-extended firmament; though our eyes shone with light like the eagles of heaven, and our feet were swift as deer, we should still be unable to thank thee and bless
thy name, O Lord our God and God of our fathers, for one thousandth or one ten thousandth of the bounties which thou has bestowed upon our fathers and upon us.
RESPONDING TO THE WORD JOYS AND CONCERNS PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

dance with noisy joy that you are the Lord. You also have pulled the other continents out of the sea. What a wonderful world you have made out of the wet mud, and what beautiful men and women!
We thank you for the beauty of this earth. Amen.
