Teacher Challenge: Encourage students to participate in as many days as possible to learn about the variety of rewarding, diverse and exciting job opportunities available within the health professions. Teacher/Educator Challenge and Lesson Plan: Teacher Challenge: Ask your students to play the game to research the average student loan debt for their chosen profession. As a group, discuss opportunities in the student’s control to reduce their own student debt. Estimated time to participate: 45 -60 minutes per game. Thursday: Virtual Fair with all 20 Professions 3 -8 pm ET
Teacher/Educator Challenge and Lesson Plans: Encourage Your Students: Have your students create a list of the professionals to whom they want to chat. Have them visit three chat rooms where they recognize the health profession (like the booth for dentists or nurses) and then have them wander into a chat room where they have no idea what the career is and ask about it. Remind them, that it’s ok to ask, “I don’t’ know much about this profession. What is it that you do as a healthcare professional? ” Teacher Challenge: Help students prepare 3 -5 questions to ask professionals at the virtual fair. Or, have the teams “present” about one of the health professions they learned about to the rest of the class. Estimated time to participate: 60 minutes at the fair.
