Definitions • Ecology = The study of interactions between organisms and their environment

Biotic and Abiotic Factors • Biotic factors = All the living organisms that are part of an environment
Biotic and Abiotic Factors • Biotic factors = All the living organisms that are part of an environment • Abiotic factors = Non-living chemical and physical factors in the environment (for example: temperature, light, water, and nutrients)
Output activity (pg 5) • Make 2 columns, labeled “biotic” and “abiotic” • List at least 5 biotic and 5 abiotic factors that affect you daily
Limiting factors (pg 4) • Limiting factor = The biotic or abiotic factor that limits the survival and productivity of an organism
