Our 2008 – 2009 Community Events q q q Monthly screenings for Hypertension and Diabetes are held on the second Wednesday of each month. Two devoted members; Sherry Lewis and Sara Harper have manned the screenings from 10: 00 am to 11: 00 am at Sheltered Care Ministries Jubilee Center. In addition $100 was donated toward supplies needed there. Volunteers are welcome at this event. October 29, 2008 : 100 individuals donated Personal Care items for the homeless to be distributed by sheltered care ministries. Two tables were covered with donated items. November 12, 2008: All proceeds went to the Illinois Burn Camp “I am me”. January 10, 2009 : Feed the Homeless Event in cooperation with Sheltered Care Ministries, Rockford Illinois. 140 meals were served. January 14, 2009 Valentines were donated for the children of “Maya’s House”. Two cases were given.
