NCJLA Player Scholarship FIVE 1 2 3 Criteria for Club Financial Aid Policy Verification: Awards are based on need(s), not abilities or athletic experience. Application and submission process can easliy be found on your club website when the NCJLA attempts to verify. No login required. 4 Players must apply, the financial aid is not automatically provided to all members of the club. 5 The club must advertise that an applicant can request assistance with completing the application and the club will provide that assistance. Applicants should not be required to be a member of the club prior to applying for the financial aid / scholarship. The club should include a google translate option (or similar) so that parents with English as a second language can apply.

NCJLA Team Scholarship Who Should Apply? Designed to meet the needs of clubs who provide groups of players on a particular team financial aid. How to Qualify Teams must be registered, meet scheduling requirements for their division and submit their application on time. How is are the fund distributed? What is the award amount? The NCJLA Board of Directors will review the application and award the team(s) based on need and the number of applications received that year. A standard amount is granted to each team approved. Typically the season operations fee is covered. EXAMPLES: Families affected by recent wildfires, unemployment, single head of household, or meet the criteria for title one schools.

Award Process for NCJLA Scholarships Clubs submit scholarship and financial aid applications via online form. Form is found under the Club Administrators Tab. Due Nov 30 th. NCJLA Scholarship Committee meets, reviews all applications and allocates funds based on need. The NCJLA Executive Director will contact the Club President once the award amount has been determined and if their club was selected for an award. Club Presidents may elect to receive their award amounts in the following formats: • Check after team registration closes • Credit towards team registration • Credit towards season officials fees invoice This process applies to the NCJLA Player and Team Scholarships. To inquire about your club’s financial standing with the NCJLA email the NCJLA Treasurer at treasurer@ncjla. org. 2020

Clubs will be reimbursed for the approved amount once documenation is received.
